Our ~3x5mm Oval Welo Smoked Black Opal Cabochons are hand cut and polished from Ethiopian Opal that has been 'smoked', a process that darkens the opals.
These Welo Smoked Black Opal Cabochons are sold as randomly selected pieces and will be of similar cut, size, and quality as the sample photos shown. The pieces are approximately 3mm wide, 5mm long, and 2.5-3.65mm tall and are flat backed. Sizes may vary by +/- approximately .25mm.
**Welo Opals are hydrophane, which means they are porous and will absorb water. When wet, they will lose flash until they dry out.**
